Orange County, FL Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel was elected Orange County Supervisor of Elections on November 5, 2024.

A lifelong Floridian and public servant, she has spent over 25 years serving Orange County as a public school teacher, state legislator, and school board member. Who we are: We are the trusted, nonpartisan team ensuring elections are safe, secure, and accessible. What we do: Through transparency, education, and community outreach, we make voting easy to understand and participate in. Rather than leaving critical election decisions to a single individual, the canvassing board ensures election integrity and oversight is handled by a group. We thank our canvassing board for their service! 🧡

While the majority of our judges' work happens on the bench, their commitment to public service often goes beyond the courtroom. Last week, Judges Bigney, Duckworth, and Jewett were hard at work serving on the Orange County Supervisor of Elections canvassing board, helping make sure the process remained fair and accurate.

Orange County is conducting a recount today for a primary race for Florida's U.S. House District 11. Florida law requires a machine recount happen automatically when the margin in a race falls at or below 0.5%.

District 11, which covers Sumter, part of Lake and part of Orange counties, is an open seat, since Congressman Dan Webster is retiring in January.

If you still have your Vote-by-Mail ballot, don’t put it in the mail. Ballots must be in our office by 7 PM to be counted.

You can still drop off your completed mail ballot at either of our offices or surrender your mail ballot and vote in person at your assigned polling place.
