In 2025, you helped to provide 16,922 showers to the unhoused. These showers allow people to reclaim their dignity and have a fighting chance toward ending their homelessness.

We still have 4 months left in the year, and so far in 2026 you helped to provide 17,131 to our most vulnerable neighbors.

“I just said to myself, it’s time to stop.”

More than a year into sobriety, Irvin says faith has been at the center of his recovery journey.

SALT has been part of his support system along the way—through showers, laundry, case management, transportation assistance, and staff who take the time to sit down, listen, and show they care.

When asked what he’s most proud of today, Irvin said: “My sobriety.”

His message to anyone struggling is simple:

“Believe in God. Believe in yourself. And just do it.”

And if you stumble, get back up and try again.

This National Recovery Month, we’re honored to share a piece of Irvin’s story and celebrate his continued journey in recovery.

Your support helped us break a record 🎉

Last year, you helped us provide 180,000 different services and resources for our guests experiencing homelessness.

At the beginning of this month, with still 4 months left in the year, you helped us provide 200,000+ services and resources for our guests. That means a record breaking amount of showers provided, laundry loads completed, hygiene and clothing items distributed, mail distributed, devices charged, items stored, case management appointments and support, and more!

Record breaking support, leads to record breaking impact. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our neighbors sleeping outside!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Summer SALT raised $426,248—including the full $200,000 match.

We’re grateful for everyone who donated, shared the campaign, and encouraged others to support SALT. Every contribution helped us reach this milestone and continue providing essential services to people experiencing homelessness across Central Florida.

Clean clothes. One less thing to worry about. 🧺

Laundry is one of the practical services SALT provides to meet people where they are. With our mobile laundry trailer, guests can wash and dry their clothes while connecting with team members like Joy along the way.

Sometimes support looks like a fresh load of laundry, a familiar face, and one less barrier to navigate that day. 💙

Yesterday marked International Overdose Awareness Day, and today begins National Recovery Month.

SALT Outreach partners with Recovery Connections of Central Florida to connect people with free Narcan, peer-led recovery support, and resources for their individual recovery journeys.

Their Certified Recovery Peer Specialists use lived experience to help people establish recovery goals, navigate resources, and explore multiple pathways to long-term recovery.

If you or someone you know needs support, call the Recovery Connections 24/7 helpline at 407-RECOVER (407-732-6837)

Recovery is possible, and no one should have to navigate it alone.
