After collections flattened in June, it’s encouraging to see positive growth in July. July 2026 Tourist Development Tax collections reached $31,474,700—an increase of 6.4% over July 2025.

July’s collections not only exceeded last year’s numbers but also set another monthly record, reflecting continued strength in Orange County’s tourism industry.

🦟 Happy World Mosquito Day! 🦟

Here's a fun piece of Orange County history...

Did you know that Orange County was originally named Mosquito County when it was established in 1824? Thankfully, the name didn't stick! In 1845, it was renamed Orange County to reflect the area's growing citrus industry. 🍊

While we're grateful our county is known for oranges instead of mosquitoes, today is a great reminder of the importance of protecting yourself from mosquito bites—especially during Florida's rainy season.

🗳️ Election Day is Tomorrow!

Orange County voters — tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18, is Florida’s Primary Election.

If you’re eligible to vote, make your voice heard! Before heading to the polls, take a moment to:

✅ Check your voter registration
✅ Confirm your polling location
✅ Review your sample ballot
✅ Bring an acceptable photo and signature ID

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Remember, on Election Day you must vote at your assigned polling location.

The Orange County Transportation Mobility Advisory Commission (TransMAC) will meet on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Orange County Innovation Center located at 7149 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32818. The public is invited to attend the meeting and address TransMAC during public comment.
