On July 9, 2025, the U.S. Army Warrant Officer Cohort marks its 107th anniversary!
Established on this day in 1918 with the creation of the Army Mine Planter Service, the Warrant Officer Corps has been a cornerstone of Army excellence ever since.

With roots tracing back to the Revolutionary War, warrant officers have long brought unmatched technical expertise and leadership to the fight.

🔳 Key Contributors:
Serving in 17 branches and over 60 specialties, warrant officers lead in combat, train future leaders, and provide critical technical guidance across the force.

Today we celebrate the birth of our great nation, a country built on courage, sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit of freedom. As Soldiers, Families, and Patriots, let’s honor those who came before us by living each day with the same dedication and love for this country.

🎆 Remember: Independence Day isn’t just about fireworks; it’s about the freedoms we defend together.

Stay Safe This 4th of July:

✅ If you plan to drink, do it responsibly. Have a plan and a designated driver.
✅ Keep an eye on children and pets around fireworks and grills.
✅ Follow local laws when using fireworks, and leave the big shows to the professionals.
✅ Hydrate and protect yourself from the heat if you’re spending time outdoors.

🚨 Awesome Highlight! 🚨

As your Army Reserve Career Counselor, I’m excited to share what Soldiers in our formations are achieving, and what YOU can be a part of! 🙌

Maj. Paul Loor and Capt. Bianca Ramirez from the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion, together with Marines from the 4th Civil Affairs Group, recently deployed to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, to conduct Veterinary Innovative Readiness Training (IRT), June 16-30, 2025. 🪖🐾

These real-world missions allow our Soldiers to sharpen unique skill sets you can’t get in a traditional training environment. Capt. Guillermo Gonzalez, Civil Affairs OIC, summed it up perfectly:

“The whole process of mobilizing to a new area, creating and establishing connections with the civil population, and managing this information is what prepares us for the future.”

During this mission, the team successfully completed 13 key leader engagements, working directly with community leaders, business owners, nonprofits, and federal partners to make a lasting impact. 🤝✨

Their work even helped the local Humane Society develop new procedures to get critical supplies where they’re needed most, showing how Civil Affairs enables mission success across any operation.
