Meet our June Super Star⦠Classification Unit Supervisor Patrick!āļø
While driving on I-4, she saw a pickup truck on fire on the shoulder. She immediately pulled over to assist and discovered a man was still inside the vehicleātrying to retrieve personal belongings from the burning vehicle. She contacted 911 and remained on scene to provide first responders with an accurate account of the incident.
Her commitment extended beyond the emergency. Recognizing the citizenās phone was damaged and unusable, she took the initiative to contact his family and personally transported him approximately 30 minutes to reunite him with his children after his vehicle was deemed a total loss.
Her nominator wrote, āShe truly exemplifies going above and beyond both on and off duty and embodies OCCDās mission of serving our community.ā
Patrick started her career at OCCD as a Correctional Officer at Central Booking in July 2006. She also worked at BRC Detention until she was promoted to Classification Officer in September 2008. She was promoted again to her current position as Unit Supervisor in Classification in December 2017. Her favorite part of her role is keeping everyone safe, employees and inmates alike, by going above and beyond each day. Every day through her role in classification, she gets to interact with a variety of divisions to ensure inmates are classified appropriately, ensuring the safety of our entire community.
Congratulations on being honored as Juneās Super Star. Thank you for your work to keep our community safe both inside and outside of our jail.
