Another reason why VOTING is so important. 🗳️

In 1920, the 19th Amendment became a major milestone in the fight for women’s voting rights after generations of women organized, marched, spoke out, and refused to give up.

And the fight for equal access to the ballot did not end there.

There was a time when many of our forefathers and foremothers were denied a voice at the ballot box because of their race, s*x, and discriminatory laws and practices.

Whether we agree on every issue or not, we can recognize the sacrifices made by generations before us to expand the right to vote.

Voting is more than checking a box. It is exercising a right that many people before us fought to secure.

Know your history. Know your rights. Use your voice. VOTE. 🇺🇸🗳️

Our forefathers and foremothers fought for the right to vote. Generations before us endured discrimination, injustice, and tremendous sacrifice to secure and protect voting rights and ensure that every citizen could have a voice in our democracy.

For that reason alone, we should get out and vote.

Three generations of hard work, love, faith, and unwavering support have shaped who I am.

The Filmore and Carr family names represent a legacy of service and excellence. I come from a family of educators, council members, lawyers, pastors, cooks, public servants, and entrepreneurs—people who have dedicated their lives to helping others and strengthening their communities.

I was raised by people who pray through every storm, never give up when life gets difficult, and will make sure you’re fed before they sit down themselves. That’s the kind of faith, resilience, and compassion that has been passed down through generations.

That legacy is the foundation of who I am, and it continues to guide the way I serve my community every day.
