Snow Library - Orleans, MA Snow Library is for everyone: a hub of imagination that sparks learning, creativity, and joy.

Snow Library was founded with a bequest of $ 5,000.00 from the estate of David Snow to the Town of Orleans in 1876. In 1877, Orleans Town Meeting voted to build Snow's Library on land which previously belonged to the Orleans Academy at the intersection of Rt. 28 and Main Street. The original building was destroyed by fire during a blizzard in February 1952. In 1954, the Town of Orleans built the existing library directly across from the original location of Snow's Library.

Would you like to make some nifty dried flower bookmarks to comemmorate the beginning of the Spring season? Tammy Hock will be showing the group how to assemble some beauties to take home with you and press into your favorite books! This craft workshop will be in the Snow Studio on the lower floor of the library on April 15 from 10:30-12:30. There's no charge, but there is a limit on numbers, so please call the library to register (508-240-3760) or sign up at the Circulation Desk.

Great time last Saturday, March 28, at the Library's Klezmer Swing Group concert: lots of vibrant music, with much hand-clapping by the appreciative audience. Oour next two concerts are (1) Joe Flood on April 11 and (2) CrabGrass Bluegrass Band on April 18. Come by and check us out!

Lots of comments about Snow Library's SRO concert on January 31, featuring Bart Weisman's Smooth Jazz trio. Long standing ovation resulted in a sizzling encore. Bart will be back as part of Fred Boyle's trio at the library on February 28, and again with his own Klezmer band on March 28; all performances at 2 pm. Jesse Liam's concert on January 17 was sensational! That guy is so full of energy, he literally ran up a flight of stairs to our balcony TWICE, serenaded a woman in her seat, then sang to his heart's content while hanging over the balcony! He was terrific!!!
