Shout-Out to Orleans High School Band members who helped to spruce things up around town for the annual Dogwood Festival and America 250 celebration. Orange County To***co Free coalition awarded the Band Dept. $500 to go towards new uniforms for cleaning up all the cigarette butts (and trash) around town. The students did an outstanding job, and they also showed real community pride!!🐾

Tickets go on sale starting May 1st for the upcoming 2026 Orleans Alumni Banquet set for Saturday, June 6th at the Orleans High School Practice Gym. Dinner tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance from Beacon Credit Union , Orleans Town Office, and Orleans Library. Deadline for purchasing tickets is May 30th No tickets will be sold or available at the door.

Complimentary tickets will again be made available to all of the Graduating Seniors; however if they opt to bring a guest they will be required to purchase a dinner ticket. Those Seniors planning to attend should sign up with Mr. Day in the O.H.S. Principal’s Office.

This year’s Honor Classes are all those ending in ‘6; however, anyone may attend. Celebrating their Golden Anniversary during the event will be the O.H.S. Bicentennial Class of 1976. Doors for the banquet will open at 4 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Honor Class members are asked to arrive a bit earlier to have their photographs taken.

2025 Orleans Alumni Association President Mike Magill is reminding everyone especially this year’s honor classes that the association annually awards several scholarships during the banquet, and donations, memorials etc. in any amount toward this endeavor are greatly appreciated.

Class Representatives for each Honor Class are being urged to make contact with their fellow classmates concerning the banquet details and any other reunion activities being planned that weekend.

Representatives are also reminded to be sure and submit their class composites if available with updated information to The Orleans Progress-Examiner ASAP so the class pictures can be run in the paper prior to the banquet.

🍎 Orleans Community Schools – Summer Meals To-Go Interest Survey 🍎

Orleans Community Schools is planning to offer a FREE Summer Meals To-Go Program for all children and teens 18 and under!

📍 Pickup Location: Orleans Elementary School
📅 Start Date: June 8 (planned)

Meals would be available twice per week, with families receiving:
✔️ 3 days’ worth of meals at one pickup
✔️ 4 days’ worth at the other
➡️ Covering the entire week!

This program is open to ALL children 18 and under—students do not need to attend Orleans Community Schools to participate.

Orleans Jr/Sr High School Choir is proud to perform at the Dogwood Festival as part of town’s America’s 250th birthday tribute. The special performance will be on the main stage Wednesday, April 22nd starting at 5 pm. This program reflects months of dedicated rehearsal, careful musical growth, and a shared commitment to telling our nation’s story through song. From learning challenging harmonies to refining expression and blend, these students have truly poured their hearts into every piece of this program.

Choir Director Claire Goller wishes to give a special shoutout to seniors Haley, Adalynn, Mckenzie, Kevin, and Jayce. Their leadership, perseverance, and love for music have shaped the ensemble in countless ways, and this performance is a reflection of the legacy they leave behind. Goller is proud of all their hard work and grateful for the example they have set as the group honor’s the spirit, history, and hope of America through music.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs as seating in the park is limited.
