Orleans Police Department The purpose of this site is to present matters of public interest in the Town of Orleans, Indiana.

The Orleans Police Department has five full time sworn Police Officers and two Reserve Deputies to serve a population of 2,325 people. The Department has five patrol vehicles and is proud to serve the community with a 24 hour patrol program. Officers are dispatched by the Orange County Sheriffs Department and are in constant radio contact with dispatchers. To reach an officer, citizens can call th

This week starts the annual Dogwood Festival for the Town of Orleans. With the festival opening and the expectation of many guests to our beautiful square, we want to kindly remind you of some things.

- Bikes, skateboards, and scooters are prohibited inside the square.

- Do not get inside or throw debris, rubbish, or litter into the fountain

- Do not leave litter in the square, trash receptacles will be placed throughout the square for any waste

- Please supervise all children at all times when at the festival

- If you litter or damage any property, you could be subject to fines or criminal charges

The Orleans Police will be present during the festival if anyone needs assistance. We hope you enjoy yet again, another great festival week!

Orleans Police Department Activity – April 13, 2026

At approximately 8:00 PM, the Orleans Police Department received a complaint regarding a possible theft in the area of South 6th Street and Vincennes Street.

Officer K. Lundy and Asst. Chief Henderson responded and was advised that the suspected stolen property may be located at a residence in the area of South 5th Street. While checking the area, Officer Lundy located an adult male who appeared to be actively using illegal narcotics.

After making contact, officers obtained written consent to search the male’s residence. During the search, multiple electronic THC devices, smoking devices, and other drug paraphernalia were located.

The individual was issued a summons to appear in Orange County Superior Court on misdemeanor charges of:

• Possession of Ma*****na
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Assisting Agencies :

Orange County Sheriff’s Office
– Deputy C. Hubbard

Most importantly, the stolen property was also recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
