🀝 This evening, OFD had the pleasure of assisting the Orleans Cemetery Association at Pleasant View Cemetery with the opening of a 102 year old receiving vault.

πŸ”’ OFD assisted in removing the lock safely and air monitoring, making sure the space was safe to go into.

πŸ”Ž Originally believed to not have been opened since 1962, further investigating inside revealed a paint can from 1997.

β˜€οΈ Warm Weather Safety Reminder β˜€οΈ

🌑️With temperatures expected to climb over the next several days here in the Northeast Kingdom, we would like to remind everyone to take precautions to stay safe in the heat.

Heat Safety Tips:

πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning when working or spending time outdoors.
πŸ‘• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🧒 Use sunscreen and wear a hat when outside for extended periods.
πŸš— Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes.
πŸ• Ensure pets have access to fresh water and shade at all times.
⚠️ Watch for signs of heat-related illness, including dizziness, headache, nausea, excessive sweating, confusion, or muscle cramps.

β˜€οΈ If you plan on enjoying the outdoors, be mindful of the heat and check on family members, neighbors, and others who may be more susceptible to heat-related illnesses.

πŸ“Find a cooling center near you at: https://www.healthvermont.gov/environment/climate-health/hot-weather

πŸš’ Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe!
