With the increased monsoon activity this season, we are seeing an increase in the need for people to be rescued after entering water across the road. It is extremely dangerous to cross a road that has water flowing across it. Just 12" of water can wash a vehicle downstream. Please do not drive around barricade signs. Turn Around, Don't Drown.

UPDATE: Her name is Venus and her owners have been found. Thank you to the folks that found her and were taking care of her until the owners could come get her.

It’s been a while since we needed help finding a pup’s owners, but we need some help today. This beautiful girl was found near Calle Loma Linda and Camino Coronado and does not have a chip. If you know who her humans are please call OVPD at 520-229-4900.

OVPD partnered with the Arizona Attorney General's Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety earlier this month for an Organized Retail Theft Blitz. These operations are an effort to reduce thefts from local businesses and reduce crime in our community. The operation was a big success and also led to a 30-count indictment on a couple accused of over $900,000 in thefts from all over southern Arizona, following a 2-year investigation.

It's National Dog Day, so we had to post a picture of two of our favorite dogs. Ari and her friend McGruff from 88-Crime. Dogs serve so many purposes, including wellness like Ari, or patrol work like OVPD's two K-9's Cash and Juup, and our friend from Tucson Police Department Electronic Detection K9 Zona. We want to congratulate two of our employees on their service milestones. Crime Analyst Lorinda Novarro was presented her 35-year service pin, and Lt. Duran was presented his 10-year service pin. We are thankful to both for their dedication and service to the town of Oro Valley and OVPD.
