As the summer months wane, we are reflecting on our season of successes... and feeling tremendously grateful for our youth gardeners, their caregivers, and our intrepid garden volunteers! We've had record numbers of Youth Garden participants this year, and we simply couldn't run this program without our dedicated crew of garden volunteers (special thanks to Mikayla Mason, Ellie Petersen, and Sara Hunt!). Just as vital to our program: Dedicated and hardworking parents and caregivers! THANK YOU for your time, physical labor in the garden beds, and for pushing through some warm and muggy afternoons!
To show our appreciation, we held a special "volunteer and caregiver recognition" event at our regular garden session last week. We had punch made with edible flowers from our garden; homemade thank-you cards; and a special community-art project led by Ana Blagojevic. We also harvested potatoes!
Youth Garden Club will continue through Tues, 22 September -- and we still have a number of special events to come!
We'll include some other garden photos in this post, as our social media presence has been slow with busy, busy garden work days!
