Jasper County has announced a County Wide burn ban starting September 1st. Under the burn ban, outdoor burning is prohibited throughout Jasper County, including the burning of brush, leaves, grass, trash, and any other combustible materials. The burning ban will remain in effect until September 30, 2026 or until conditions improve and the ban is officially lifted.

Congratulations to the graduates of the 2026 SMART Fire Academy! Oronogo Fire District instructors are proud to work alongside instructors from other area fire departments to help train and mentor the next generation of the fire service.

A special congratulations to our own Todd Milbourn for earning the Award of Excellence by achieving the highest GPA in the class. We are incredibly proud of your hard work, dedication, and accomplishment. Congratulations to all of the graduates, and we wish you safe and successful careers in the fire service!

July monthly training, Oronogo Fire District personnel sharpened their low-angle rope rescue skills. Crews practiced rope systems, patient packaging, and safe rescue techniques to prepare for incidents in challenging terrain. Continuous training ensures we’re ready to serve our community when it matters most.

July Monthly Training, this month the Oronogo Fire District crews trained on water rescue boat operations to keep our skills sharp and ready for the next emergency.

Training included boat launching and operation, water entries into the boat, and rescuing patients from the water. Continuous training ensures we’re prepared to serve our community when needed.

Over the last several months, the Oronogo Fire District has completed multiple Active Threat Drills in partnership with neighboring Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies.

These valuable training exercises were held at Christ Church of Oronogo, Webb City Junior High, and Carthage High School. Working together in realistic scenarios strengthens coordination, communication, and preparedness so we can better protect and serve our communities when it matters most.

We appreciate our partner agencies and the host locations for their commitment to public safety and training.
