On June 16th, Orrington Fire & Rescue was faced with a significant fire incident at the Eagle Point Energy Center (EPEC). Incidents of this magnitude require a tremendous team effort, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many fire departments, EMS agencies, dispatch center, law enforcement, emergency management personnel, utility representatives, and support organizations that responded to assist.
The successful management of this incident was made possible through the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork demonstrated by everyone involved. From fire suppression and water supply operations to scene support, traffic control, rehabilitation, and incident management, each agency played a vital role in ensuring the safety of responders, facility personnel, and our community.
Mutual aid is the backbone of the fire service, and this incident was a powerful reminder of the strong partnerships we share throughout our region. We are proud to stand alongside such outstanding professionals who answer the call whenever help is needed.
We would also like to thank the staff at Eagle Point Energy Center for their cooperation throughout the incident and the community for their patience and support during the response.
