Orrington Fire & Rescue would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lifeflight of Maine - Bangor Hangar for providing an outstanding Landing Zone (LZ) class for our members. The training was professional, informative, and extremely valuable in helping us sharpen the skills needed to safely and effectively operate at helicopter landing zones.

We are also incredibly grateful toLifeFlight of Maine & Central Maine Power for their generous donation of a Landing Zone Kit. This equipment will play a critical role in enhancing scene safety and improving our ability to support air medical operations in our community.

Strong partnerships like these make a real difference. Thank you both for your continued support of Orrington Fire & Rescue and the residents we proudly serve. 🚁🔥

Last night at 2323 hours we were requested to respond mutual aid to Dedham/Lucerne Fire Department and Brewer Fire Department with UTV 36 to assist in getting an injured patient from their residence to the ambulance. D Crew responded to the scene and provided assistance. By using UTV 36 the patient was moved safely to the ambulance and then to the hospital, while minimizing potential for injury to responders or increased injury to the patient.

⚠️ Storm Safety Reminder – This Weekend ⚠️

A significant storm is expected to impact our area this weekend, bringing potentially dangerous conditions including heavy snow, strong winds, power outages, and extremely cold temperatures. We urge everyone to prepare now and to limit travel once conditions deteriorate.

Please check on family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be vulnerable—especially the elderly or those without reliable heat. Make sure you have a plan for staying warm and safe if power is lost.

If you need assistance or have concerns related to the storm, do not hesitate to call us at 207-825-3530. We are here to help our community.

For those in need of a warm place to go, Maine Emergency Management Agency has provided a list of local warming centers available in our area:

Stay safe, stay informed, and take care of one another.

After a magical day filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of holiday cheer, Santa has officially headed back to the North Pole, with the sound of sleigh bells sending him off! He loved riding through town in the fire truck, waving to everyone, and spending special moments visiting with all the wonderful kids along the way. He can’t wait to visit us again next year!

Today, members of Orrington Fire & Rescue were honored to take part in the Wreaths Across America ceremony in Hermon, Maine.

We are grateful for the invitation to join our neighboring communities in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who served our nation. This annual tradition is a powerful reminder that their sacrifice and service will never be forgotten.

We are proud to stand alongside volunteers, families, veterans, and fellow first responders as we help ensure that every hero is remembered during this meaningful event.

“Remember. Honor. Teach.”
It is a privilege to uphold that mission.
