Please review bus safety rules regularly with your child, help younger students arrive at the stop safely and on time, and choose the safest available walking route. Remind children to stay away from traffic and remain alert while they wait.

By working together, we can help every student travel safely to school and home again.

Do you know what school bus lights mean? 🚦🚌

🟡 Flashing yellow lights: The bus is preparing to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop.

🔴 Flashing red lights: Students are boarding or exiting. Stop at least 20 feet away and remain stopped until the lights are turned off.

⚠️ Hazard lights: Proceed slowly and with caution.

Knowing the signals and following the rules helps protect our students every day.

Oakwood Back-to-School Night was a HUGE success!

We loved seeing so much energy, excitement, smiles, and picture-day- ready-poses throughout the evening! And of course, the food trucks were the perfect way to bring everyone together!

A HUGE shoutout to our amazing Oakwood teachers who went above and beyond to prepare their classrooms and create such a welcoming, exciting evening for our students and families. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated team!

Drivers, please stay alert around school buses and neighborhood bus stops. 🚌

Slow down during morning pickup and afternoon drop-off times, watch carefully for students near the roadway, and allow extra stopping distance during rain, snow, fog, or other hazardous conditions.

Most importantly, never attempt to pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing. A few extra moments of patience can help keep every student safe.

School bus safety starts before the bus arrives! 🚌

Students should arrive at the bus stop early, wait a safe distance from traffic, and stay where the bus driver can see them. Always wait until the bus has stopped completely and the driver signals that it is safe before approaching or crossing the road.

Remember: never walk behind the bus. If you drop something nearby, tell the driver instead of trying to retrieve it yourself.
