Over the past couple of days, you have seen the Orwell Fire Dept members along with fire personnel from Windsor Fire, Middlefield Fire, Rome Fire and North Bloomfield Fire training on Orwell’s new ladder truck. This truck is a 2025 Rosenbauer and will be replacing our current ladder truck that is 25 years old. We still have some more training to do and outfit the truck before it can be placed into service.
We hope that it will be placed into service within the next few weeks and the fire dept will be moving to a new location soon. The fire dept will still be in the village towards the east end of town. Our fire dept cheesesteak events will still continue to be held at our current location at 72 East Main Street .
