Our Region 4 Summer camps are now open for registration! 🍀

Dive into STEM at this camp, inspired by the FIRST® LEGO® League Submerged season. You will work in small teams to design and build LEGO submersibles, power them with motors, and bring them to life using block-based coding. Along the way, they explore ocean science, underwater technology, and the engineering design process.

Thanks to a discount offered by the Mitchell County 4H Youth Committee, the cost will be $10 for Mitchell County 4H members!!

Congrats to one of our own!!

Kirk Phelps of St. Ansgar has been re-elected to the board of directors of the Iowa Extension Council Association, according to Jennifer Vit, executive director of the association. Phelps is a 10-year member of the Mitchell County Extension Council and represents Region 4, which includes Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Mitchell, and Worth Counties.

The Iowa Extension Council Association represents 900 council members in Iowa. At the local level, county extension councils manage ISU Extension and Outreach programs in health and human sciences; community and economic development; agriculture and natural resources; and 4-H youth development. The 25-member association board meets regularly to discuss issues and opportunities within Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

“The association is proud to help extension councils partner with Iowa State University to promote and strengthen local program efforts to serve Iowans,” Vit said. “Locally elected council members are key to making the partnership successful.”
