On Friday Mitchell County 4-H got to be a part of something pretty special! Kids who were a part of the Pig Challenge completed their work by donating 330 pounds of pork to our local food banks.

Change of plans... The Insect Zoo will now be an Open House and ALL ages are invited to come :)
*Youth ages 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult/caregiver.

Times: 10:00 –10:30 a.m. … STORYTIME & ACTIVITIES
10:30—11:30 a.m. … INSECT ZOO DISPLAY, CRAFTS & STEM ACTIVITIES

Place: 4-H Building Mitchell Co. Fair Grounds 1006 Chestnut St., Osage IA

The Insect Zoo event is FREE and is open to ALL *Ages!
*Youth ages 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult/caregiver.

To help us prepare, please call the Extension office at 641-732-5574 to sign up.

Be sure to register when you arrive and put your name in for the prize drawing!

ISU will bring insects from around the world to display for visitors and give a presentation about their insect friends. During your visit expect to see insects of all shapes and sizes, and learn why insects are so important to the world.
There will also be fun Insect STORIES, GAMES, STEM and CRAFT activities.

We are so pleased that the Mindful Teen program gave students the opportunity to reflect and inspired them to pursue this project.

Huge thank you to all of our partners: Limestone Brewery, Taste, Cedar Valley Seminary, Kountry Kupboard, Create, and of course Osage Community School, Mitchell County Regional Health Center, and the Cedar River Complex. It truly takes a village to deliver programs like this. Mindful Teen would not have been possible with out Carrie Barker and Nicole Dodd. We are so thankful for your partnership and support.

Fifth through twelfth-grade students at Osage Community School can now enjoy their lunch period outdoors with a few added fun activities.
