🏡 FREE Radon Test Kits Available!

You can’t see, smell, or taste radon—but it can build up in your home and long-term exposure can increase your risk of lung cancer. Testing is the only way to know your home’s radon level.

Mitchell County Public Health now has FREE radon test kits available for Mitchell County homeowners thanks to grant funding in partnership with Combat Cancer and Marion County Public Health.

📍 Pick up your kit at Mitchell County Public Health, 415 Pleasant St., Osage. Kits are intended for homeowners testing their own dwelling and are not available for rental properties.

If you or a loved one is homebound or unable to travel to one of our vaccination clinics, Mitchell County Public Health can help.

Our nurses can provide vaccinations right in your home, helping ensure homebound residents have access to the protection they need.

Measles: Know Your Protection

We want to provide information to help our community understand measles and the importance of knowing your vaccination status.

We encourage residents to be proactive:

✔️ Check your MMR vaccination records
✔️ Make sure you and your family are up to date
✔️ Contact us if you are unsure of your vaccination status
✔️ Know the signs and symptoms of measles
✔️ Call ahead before visiting a healthcare facility if you are experiencing symptoms or believe you may have been exposed

A confirmed measles case has been identified in our surrounding area. We encourage everyone to check their MMR vaccination status and know what to do if they may have been exposed.
💉 FREE MMR vaccines are available through Mitchell County Public Health for anyone who needs one, regardless of insurance status.
