❄️ Winter Weather Update and What to Expect ❄️

Osawatomie is preparing for a multi-day snow event starting Friday evening, with 4–7 inches of snow currently predicted and extreme cold temperatures through the weekend.

Public Works crews will focus on keeping primary streets passable, followed by secondary and residential streets as conditions allow. Due to the cold, salt and liquid treatments will have limited effectiveness, and snow-packed roads are expected even with active plowing.

Please avoid on-street parking starting Friday afternoon. If parking on the street is unavoidable, park on the south and east sides to help crews clear roads more efficiently.

Utility generators are fueled and ready if needed, and the Fire Department is prepared to staff the station for faster response. If conditions require it, the City Auditorium will be opened as a warming shelter.

Travel should be limited to essential trips only. If you must drive, slow down and give plows plenty of room.
