🚨 TORNADO WARNING, LIKELY ON THE GROUND🚨 (8:32 PM: The tornado has lifted)

A Tornado Warning has been issued until 8:30 PM for north-central Blair County, southwestern Centre County, and south-central Clearfield County.

At 8:15 PM, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Houtzdale and was moving southeast at 40 mph. Radar has detected rotation within the storm, meaning a tornado could develop at any time.

The storm is expected to move near Houtzdale and Sandy Ridge around 8:20 PM, and Tyrone and Bald Eagle around 8:30 PM. Other communities that may be impacted include Brisbin, Ramey, and surrounding areas. Motorists traveling along Interstate 99 between mile markers 47 and 53, and near mile marker 62, should be prepared to seek shelter immediately if the storm approaches.

If a tornado develops, flying debris will be extremely dangerous to anyone caught outdoors. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed, while homes, vehicles, trees, and power lines could also sustain significant damage.

🚨 TAKE COVER NOW. Move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If you are in a vehicle, mobile home, or outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and protect yourself from flying debris. Do not wait until you see a tornado before taking action.
