The Sheriff’s Office has received reports of individuals stealing copper piping from A/C units at local churches near the St. Clair County/Henry county line.

In August 2022 St. Clair County Deputies arrested Donavon Terry after an investigation was conducted for Statutory R**e.
On July 15, 2026, Donavon Terry pled guilty and sentenced to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Statutory R**e 1st degree- person less than 14 years of age, and was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail for Endangering the Welfare of a child-2nd Degree and Knowingly tattoo, brand or body pierce a minor without written consent of minor’s parents.

Currently accepting applications for a Kitchen Supervisor for the St. Clair County Jail!

The Jail Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily food service operations within the Correctional Facility. This role ensures that meals are prepared and served according to nutritional, sanitary, and security standards. The Supervisor coordinates with Jail staff and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

1. Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities including meal prep, serving, and cleanup.
2. Oversee and train workers in safe food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures.
3. Monitor food inventory and ordering of supplies as needed to ensure meal production continuity.
4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety and correctional facility regulations.
5. Maintain accurate records of meals served, inventory levels, and sanitation logs.

Job Requirements:

1.High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Additional culinary or food service management training preferred)

2.Valid Drivers License

3. Minimum 2 Years of experience in food service supervision (Preferably in an institutional or correctional setting)

4. Servsafe Manager Certification( Or ability to pass the course)

5. Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.

At the beginning of May, the Sheriff went around to each school in the County and delivered this flyer, giving the Elementary students a chance to name the new puppy! A winner was chosen for each school, and given $25.00 alongside a certificate, and if the Sheriff chooses their name in the end, they will receive an ADDITIONAL $25.00.

At the end of May, he personally sorted through an incredible amount of awesome submissions and came up with the following winners:
