Clarke County Conservation Board

Our mission is to provide outdoor opportunities to the public and to promote the conservation, preservation, and restoration of our resources.

The Clarke County Conservation Board's mission is to acquire, develop, maintain, and make available to the public parks, playgrounds, recreation centers, forests, wildlife areas, and other conservation areas; to educate the public and promote conservation through public programs and events; and to promote health, welfare and good citizenship through outdoor recreation. Since 1965 Clarke County Con

servation Board, with the help of other conservation agencies and community organizations, has acquired and developed four county parks, four wildlife areas, and one timber reserve, making over 800 acres of land available to the residents of Clarke County and general public for outdoor recreation.

Thanks to Roger Kentner for hosting our 2nd wildflower walk of 2026! Roger has done a lot of work in planting several acres in native wildflowers and a wide variety of trees. Join us for the next wildflower walk (hay ride) at Oakwood on July 23rd, 6:00 p.m.

Reminder, Wildflower Walk/Hay Rides is tonight at Roger Ketner's Property located at 1942 Idaho Street at 6:00pm. Take Hwy 34 west of town and turn south on the second road west of the fairgrounds and go south. Bring bug spray and your cameras!

Thank you, Debi Talbott, for hosting our first Wildflower Walk of 2026! We enjoyed learning how to grow our own pollinator plots and all the benefits of native wildflowers.

The Clarke County Conservation Board will not be having day camps for kids this summer. We will be hosting several family programs and events throughout the summer but not the day camps we offered in the past. We hope to be able to offer them next summer.
