On Wednesday this week, kids coming for candling got to check in on our embryology eggs at the Mississippi County Library System Leachville Library and see what is happening inside!
Candling our eggs shows the further development since our first candling on Day 7! At Day 14, we have 32 viable eggs left and 1 Week to go until Hatch Day!

The kids got to check out the stages of development in our embryo stage indicator and by opening eggs under our hen to see the differences each day!

It wont be long now! We will have our Hatch Party next week! Be sure and stop by the Leachville Library on Wednesday to catch the eggcitement of hatching and come back next Friday for our Hatch Party! 🐣🍀

Today Cloverbud 4-Her Logan Cochran gave a talk about a Good Mother Dinosaur, the Maiasaura, at the Embryology Candling event at the Leachville Library! 🦕🐣
He described to us how the mother Maiasaura takes care of her nest of eggs and then cares for, feeds and protects them as they grow!

4-Hers are always looking for opportunities to share what they’ve learned with others and we applaud Logan for his willingness to give talks about the subject matter he loves most-dinosaurs!

Today we rounded out our County O’Rama with one of our Cloverbuds, Logan Cochran who couldn’t come to our Monday event but wanted to make sure he got his illustrated Talk in over his chosen topic, T-Rex!

He was dressed Head to Toe (literally, look at his shoes!) in Dino’s and gave a very informative and illustrative talk!

Cloverbuds aren’t at the competitor age, but we encourage any Cloverbud who wants to give a little talk or demonstration about something they love to come and do so as it helps grow speaking confidence early!
We’re so proud of you Logan! Thank you for coming and sharing all about T-Rex!

Did you know that they are said to have the strongest bite force of any land animal???

🥚 THURSDAY, MAY 21 – DAY 1
Mississippi County Library System in Leachville!

What’s Inside an Egg?
Have you ever wondered what’s inside an egg besides breakfast? 🍳🔍

Inside each egg:
• The shell protects the growing embryo: contains thousands of tiny pores and is made of calcium carbonate
• Semi-permeable membrane so air & moisture can pass through
• The yolk provides nutrients
• The air cell helps the chick breathe before hatch

Right now, tiny cells are dividing. Life is beginning!
