**UPDATED SUMMER CALENDARS!**'
Printed calendars are available at the library both upstairs & downstairs!

The adult summer reading challenge is ready & available for pick up upstairs! It will run until the end of August!

-This year there are far more events that are open to everyone & do NOT require any registration at all, so that will give more opportunities to more kids & families. Anything that does not get filled up on registration night, will be posted via our page with first come, first serve availability. We ask that if you cannot attend an event that you are registered for, that you please give us 24+ hours notice so that another child can have the opportunity to participate! A no call, no show to a registered event will eliminate you from your next registered event. If you ONLY want to register for the reading program, but no events, you can do that at ANY time from now until the last week of July.

-Some notes/rules to be aware of for this summer's reading program:
1) There are 3 age categories: Pre-Reader to 2nd Grade, 3rd-6th Grade & Teen
-Log sheets stay the same all summer for each age group
2) Each child may only fill out 1 log per week to earn a weekly prize box pick
-Each log goes towards a grand prize entry (maximum of 9 total summer logs, so the more logs you turn in, the better chance you have to win!)
-There will be 1 girl grand prize winner & 1 boy grand prize winner at the end of July
3) Each child is limited to 20 books checked out at one time during June & July
4) Each family is limited to 1 STEM bag checked out at one time during June & July
5) There is an optional bonus activity to participate in this year & only one bonus sheet is allowed per child for the duration of the summer reading program.
-Child/Caregiver must show some sort of proof of the completed activity to staff & then be given the designated sticker.
-Once entire bonus sheet is completed, they will turn in sheet to staff & be entered into the grand prize drawing (there will be 1 winner drawn at the end of July)
6) There will be an "End of Summer Reading Program" Celebration for every child who participates in turning in at least one reading log.

We kicked off our โ€œFrom Arctic to Amazon: Read the World! ๐ŸŒŽโ€ Summer Reading Program 2026 this morning with LEGO activities! Miss Tori started the kids out with individual build challenges featuring different zoo animal exhibits that will be displayed in the childrenโ€™s library all summer! Then our friends from the ISU Extension & Outreach, Clarke County Office lead us in ocean ๐ŸŒŠ animal themed LEGO builds that were so fun! ๐Ÿคฉ Thank you for partnering with us to create such a fun event for the kids! ๐Ÿ˜‰
