Join us Monday November 17 1:00 at the Osceola RV Park Building. Your input could help find solutions to childcare challenges.

💬 “Why do we keep meeting to talk about child care? We just need something done!”
That’s a fair question—and one we’ve heard more than once. The truth is, child care is a complex challenge, and every community experiences the challenge somewhat differently. Before we can move forward together, we need to understand what’s happening locally—what families and providers are facing, what resources already exist, and what ideas people have for solutions.

Each meeting builds on the last. Bit by bit, we’re gathering local voices and insights to shape an action plan that truly reflects community priorities. When we take the time to listen first and plan together, the solutions we build have a real chance to last. 💛

Polk County met in October. Your county is next—come add your voice to the conversation!

Just had the pleasure of touring Appleton City Manor. The amount of love and dedication the administration and staff have for the community and their residence is what makes St Clair County a beautiful place to live, work, and retire. More to come ☺️

St Clair County, like many rural communities is lacking childcare. But the information provided below is what sets us apart. We are working collaboratively to find solutions. If you are a parent, childcare provider,or employer in St.Clair County please join us November 17th.

Attention parents, childcare providers, employers, and citizens who are interested in the future of child care in Cedar, Henry, or St. Clair Counties.

Local organizations are hosting meetings with area stakeholders to learn about progress and provide input on a 4-county child care action plan, like this meeting held last week in Polk County.

The West Central Early Childhood Education Community Planning Project for Henry, St. Clair, Cedar, and Polk counties started in March and will produce a strategic plan in December. The plan will support next steps and funding opportunities.

The 4-county planning project is coordinated locally by the New Growth Women's Business Center and sponsored by the statewide organization Kids Win Missouri. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

2025 Transportation Alternatives Program Award Announcement

The Missouri Department of Transportation is pleased to announce the award of the 2025 Transportation Alternatives Program projects.

The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) was authorized under Section 1122 of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) and is reauthorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The goal of the program is to expand transportation choices and enhance the transportation experience through categories of activities related to the surface transportation system. The TAP focuses on non-motorized transportation projects with an emphasis on bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

Forty projects were selected, totaling over $14 million in federal TAP funds with a total project cost of $19.47 million. This funding is for projects located outside of the State’s three urban Transportation Management Areas. Please see the link below for a complete list of the project awards.

The sponsors of awarded projects will soon receive an official notification of their project award from their MoDOT District Local Public Agency program coordinator, detailing the next steps in the TAP project implementation process.

Local public agencies are reimbursed for eligible project costs at a maximum rate of 80 percent, with the local agency providing a minimum 20 percent match.

For additional information on the MoDOT Transportation Alternatives Program, please contact [email protected] or (573) 526-1862. For information related to your project or application, please contact your respective MoDOT District LPA contact.
