For the third week in a row the Lions Club ramp crew was busy building another ramp to help a family in need. A resident had open heart surgery and also a lower leg amputation. He is being discharged from rehab on Saturday and was in need of access to his daughter’s house where he will be living. The crew built a 20’ ramp so he can access the deck and get into the residence.

Today’s crew consisted of Tony Priebe, John Novak, Scott Busich, Ann Bovan, and Chuck Andrina. They picked up the material at 800 and were finished up by noon. The homeowner was very grateful for the help in meeting her father’s needs.

The Oscoda Lions Club ramp crew of Tony Priebe, John Novak, Scott Busich, and Chuck Andrina built another handicap ramp today in Oscoda. The homeowners were having some difficulties with mobility and were concerned about falls getting in and out of their home. The Army veteran husband uses a walker and the ramp eliminates the need to go up and down the old steps.

While it was just a small 10 foot ramp, the homeowners feel like the ramp will have a big impact on their mobility. They were very happy with the finished product. The homeowners surprised the crew with a mid morning snack of breakfast quesadillas! Yum!

The Oscoda Lions Club ramp crew built a 20’ ramp today for a family in need. The lady of the house has been going through rehab to help recover from cancer treatment. She needed a ramp to access her home with a wheelchair before she was allowed to come home. The crew built the ramp to the front deck and installed a small wedge to get from the deck into the house.

Lions Tony Priebe, Scott Busich, John Novak, Rick Stanley, and Chuck Andrina worked on today’s project. They picked up the material at 800 and finished up just after 1100. It was a beautiful spring day to work!

Tony P., Scott B., and Mike (a former Lion from Hale, MI) recently completed a ramp project for Mike’s mother. The ramp was required for her to be discharged from rehab following knee surgery.

We departed Oscoda at 9:00 AM and arrived in Hale around 9:30 AM. The team assembled a 16-foot ramp featuring an angled, pie-shaped platform at the top.

The project details are as follows:

- Materials Cost: Approximately $350 (Mike provided $400 to cover these costs).
- Labor: 10 Lions man-hours and 4 hours contributed by Mike.

Mike was very pleased with the final result, and I believe Scott even did a "happy dance" upon completion.

Thanks,

Tony, Scott and Dan Gross built another winter ramp today. With the help from the homeowners daughter and a local contractor. For a homeowner who has fallen and broke her leg in three places and can't leave rehab until there was a ramp in place. We started at 9am and finished a little after 1pm. It was a chilly start but turned out to be a beautiful day. Sunny and no wind. We built a 4x4 platform , 16ft ramp and a wedge at the door.
Which the daughter paid for.
Man hours 12 hours.
8hrs guest help.
Thanks Tony
