The Town of Osgood has been working to amend and update its Business Overlay District (downtown business area). It is our goal to ensure our ordinance is current and conducive to attracting businesses to our downtown. The updated Business Overlay District map is included below for public review.

The overlay boundaries are:
South Buckeye Street: Stops at Franklin Street
North Buckeye Street: Stops at Fairground Road
Railroad Avenue West: From Buckeye to Maple Street
Ripley Street West: From Buckeye To Walnut Street

The streets listed above serve as the boundaries of the overlay district.

Community Feedback has been an important part of this process. After listening to concerns, reviewing the proposed boundaries, and conducting additional research, the updated map reflects the boundaries established in Ordinance 2012-3 and the current proposed boundary changes. The proposed ordinance is attached. Initial ordinance changes are highlighted in yellow; exclusions are struck through, and the most recent changes highlighted in blue.

We care about our community, and we appreciate residents taking the time to ask questions, provide feedback, and for staying involved during this process. Our goal is to move forward with a clear and transparent process while supporting the future of Osgood.

๐Ÿšง COMMUNITY CROSSINGS PROJECT UPDATE ๐Ÿšง

Residents on Cherry Street, North Maple Street, Cravens Street, Western Avenue, and Fairground Avenue:

Weโ€™ve reached another big milestone โ€” all concrete work is now complete!

That means the digging portion of the project is finished. Crews are now preparing the streets for the base layer of asphalt.

Once the base asphalt is completed, the remaining work will include final milling and the surface coat of asphalt. After that, the Community Crossings project will be wrapped up.

I know this has been a long process, especially for the residents living directly in the construction areas. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we worked through each stage of the project.

I also want to recognize the Dave Oโ€™Mara crews. They have done a fantastic job throughout this project, and their workmanship and cooperation have been greatly appreciated.

Weโ€™re getting close to the finish line!

Leave it better than you found it! ๐Ÿšง

๐Ÿšจ VEHICLE SAFETY REMINDER ๐Ÿšจ

The Osgood Police Department reminds everyone to take a few simple steps to help prevent vehicle break-ins:

๐Ÿ”’ Lock your vehicle doors โ€” every time.
๐Ÿš— Remove valuables and personal items from your vehicle.
๐Ÿ‘€ Donโ€™t leave bags, electronics, cash, fi****ms, or other valuable items in plain sight.

Many vehicle break-ins are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few extra seconds to lock your doors and removing valuables can make a big difference.

Lock it. Take it. Protect it.

PUBLIC NOTICE โ€“ STREET LIGHT POLE PAINTING

The Town of Osgood will be having the decorative street light poles painted along the route from Osgood Grub Company to the schools.

The contractor will be using an electrostatic painting process. During this work, residents and motorists may notice a white work van temporarily positioned between the curb and the light pole while each pole is being painted.

The van will move from pole to pole as work progresses.

Please use a little extra caution when traveling through the work area and give the crew room to safely complete the painting.

Thank you for your patience while we continue maintaining and improving the Town of Osgood.
