Today is the first day to sign up for Summer Reading! Get signed ASAP so you can get as much reading in as you can between now and July 20th! The more you read the more raffle tickets you'll get for big prizes such as Kings Island tickets, Nook e-book reader, or a Razor Scooter! Comedy/Magician act "Readers of The Lost Book" program today at Osgood-10am & Milan-2pm!!! Fun for the whole family and all of our programs are FREE!

Summer Reading begins Saturday, June 8th!
You can come in to sign up for our Summer Reading program beginning June 8th. To celebrate our first day we will have Magician and Comedian Jack Strauss!
Join Jack and his faithful sidekick, Abby Cadabra, for high adventure as they quest for the long lost secrets of the Book of Incredibly Ancient Magic. Will they succeed or are they meddling with Forces They Cannot Possibly Comprehend?

You are invited to join the Osgood & Milan Public Libraries Summer Reading Program and attend the fun programs and events we are planning. With our theme “Dig Into Reading!” we will be exploring all things underground including animals, vegetable gardens, caves, worms, etc. The program is free and open to ages 2-adults!
We hope to keep you reading and learning all summer! Children who join the Reading Program keep their brains active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed!

Joining the Summer Reading Program is easy! Come to the library to register beginning Saturday, June 8th. Then each week complete the reading requirements (1 hour each week for ages 2-12 and 2 hours a week for ages 13 & up), bring in your time log and get a prize. Only one prize given per week- (extenuating circumstances such as vacations will be taken into consideration). Each time you earn a prize you will also receive a raffle ticket for big prizes (such as a razor scooter or ebook reader!) which will be drawn at the end of the Summer Reading Program. You can earn extra raffle tickets by doing extra reading each week and also by attending programs held at the library during the summer (excluding storytimes).

A big Thank You to the Ripley County Community Foundation for helping to make the library safer during the winter snows! The Library recieved a grant from the RCCF to purchase a snow blower for our Osgood location!

The Osgood Public Library has five new computers for use by members of the public. These modern, up-to-date computers provide Internet access, word processing with templates for resumes and other commonly used documents, and access to databases such as INSPIRE and Ancestry Library Edition, along with much more. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library. While the computers were purchased by the library, funding for the software and hardware installation and networking integration were paid for through the grant funds.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation's 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Through grant making, policy development, and research, IMLS helps communities and individuals thrive through broad public access to knowledge, cultural heritage, and lifelong learning.
