Last week, Help - Homelessness, Eviction, and Loss Prevention staff Brelynn Bille and Sandra Reeves delivered a bed donated by Werner-Harmsen Furniture to a client for her 14 year-old daughter after they successfully moved into housing. After being homeless for 6 months, both can now sleep comfortably at night knowing they have a stable roof over their heads. We are grateful for our partnerships in the community that help make this work possible!

We'd like to take a minute to welcome our new intern, Olivia Eckes!

Olivia is joining us for the summer and will be helping out our ADRC/HELP team. She is finishing up her bachelor's degree in psychology in the fall of 2026. She is looking forward to absorbing all the information she can during her summer with us.

Outside of work, Olivia likes to travel with her family and fiancé, read, bake, and spend time on her and her fiancé's family farm where they have 50 cows.

Welcome Oliva! We are so excited to have you!🎉🎊

📣📣Staff Update

Libby has been one of our Elder Benefit Specialists (EBS) for the past 2.5 years. During her time with us, she especially enjoyed helping customers understand their benefits in a way that was easy to follow and understand. Libby also loved connecting with the community through outreach opportunities.

Some of her most memorable moments as an EBS came during the chaos and excitement of Medicare Open Enrollment 😊

When asked what message she would like to share with the community, Libby said, “The answer is always no unless you ask.” You never know what you might be eligible for!

What she will miss most is connecting with clients and getting to know them and their families. Libby will be taking a position as an ADRC Specialist with the ADRC of Fond du Lac County.

Congratulations, Libby! We are so proud of you and thankful for your service to our team and community.

📣📣NEW STAFF: Alfredo Vera Perez is our new Adult Protection Services (APS)/Crisis Case Manager.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in education and human services from University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.

Alfredo began his career with Winnebago County DHS in September 2025 as a case manager with the Clinical Diversion Team in Justice Programs, where he worked with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Prior to this role, he worked at Winnebago Mental Health Institute working with individuals with mental health conditions and physical disabilities.

He is passionate about helping community members navigate difficult situations and supporting them in living safely and as independently as possible.

Outside of work, Alfredo enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching action and thriller movies, playing golf, being outdoors, cooking out, traveling, and following Wisconsin sports—Go Pack Go!

Welcome, Alfredo!

Did you know the way we record our time and services plays a role in how ADRC funding is determined?

By documenting the services we provide, we show the level of need in our community—helping secure state and federal support and expand programs.

This morning, our ADRC Specialists met to learn a new time reporting system. Accurate reporting means more resources can come back to the people we serve 💙

And what makes every training better? Donuts! 🍩😉

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

We had to share this post from Miron Construction—mental health does not discriminate. Mental health matters. Whether you're struggling or supporting someone else, you’re not alone.

Let’s break the stigma and take care of ourselves and each other.
