This weekend 2 members of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department and 1st Responders attend a live fire 🔥 RIT training session at NWTC in Green Bay.

What is RIT?

Rapid intervention teams (RITs) 👨‍🚒 or rapid intervention crews (RICs) 🚒 are teams of firefighters who act as standby rescuers on a fire scene. Their duties involve monitoring the situation and aiding in firefighter and civilian rescue if necessary.

This weekend, three members of our fire department attended the Watertown HOT training session, participating in comprehensive training courses including ladder training, forcible entry, and search and rescue operations under live fire conditions. 🔥

Last night we gathered as a department for our Annual Recognition Dinner. We were proud to welcome our newest members, honor years of dedicated service, and celebrate the milestones that keep our tradition strong.

Over a shared meal and good company, we reflected on the past year—and paused for a moment of silence to remember those we’ve lost. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who continues to serve, support, and stand beside us. Here’s to another year of commitment, courage, and community.

‼️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

Due to the recent severe weather events and with more storms predicted, Winnebago County will NOT be participating in the Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill. The drill was scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, April 16, at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM.

Again, there is NO TORNADO DRILL tomorrow, April 16.

If the outdoor warning sirens sound, it will be for a real severe weather threat. If they activate, please seek shelter immediately and wait for guidance from officials.
