In case you missed Wednesday's membership meeting, here's a little bit about Emily Tseffos for Wisconsin and why she is running for state senate. Emily is an outstanding candidate running in Senate District 19, (the portion of SD19 that is in Winnebago County includes Fox Crossing, Winneconne, Omro, Algoma, Pickett, South Oshkosh)
In case you’re new here…
My name is Emily.
I’m a mom of three, a former middle school teacher, and a neighbor here in northeastern Wisconsin.
I’m also someone who decided to step into politics because I believe government should do the basics well: lower costs for families, support our kids, and make sure our communities are safe and strong.
But before we get heavy on the policy, there's one thing you should know:
I believe every human being has dignity.
No matter where they’re from.
What they look like.
Who they love.
Or how they worship.
That belief isn’t political for me.
It’s moral.
It’s rooted in my faith.
I believe every person is created in the image of God. That means their dignity isn’t something that someone get to hand out or take away depending on the moment.
And I will never apologize for believing that.
We’re living through a difficult moment. A lot of people are stretched thin. Groceries cost too much. Housing costs too much. Healthcare costs too much.
People are working hard and still feeling like they’re falling behind.
That frustration is real.
But I’m not here to manipulate that frustration or turn neighbors against each other.
I’m here to talk honestly about the policies that actually shape our lives.
I want to
• Make sure working families can afford childcare and healthcare
• Fully fund public schools so property taxes and referendums aren’t constantly squeezing communities
• Support farmers and small businesses that keep rural Wisconsin alive
• Invest in infrastructure and workforce so our towns don’t get left behind
• Make sure government works for regular people, not just the wealthy or well-connected
You may not agree with me on everything.
But I’ll always be honest with you.
I won’t pretend problems are simple, and I won’t manipulate people’s fears to win votes. (I also won't accept manipulation, falsehoods, or hate online or in real life)
At the end of the day, I’m just trying to be a good neighbor who shows up, listens, and fights for the dignity of the people who live here.
