Finally our warm summer weather is here! While working or playing outdoors, be mindful of chemicals that affect our lungs—from pesticides to chemical dusts from road construction. These chemicals can irritate our lungs and increase the risk of asthma or other lung diseases.

Have you noticed the sky is a little hazy today? That's because our Air Quality is in the orange category - unhealthy for sensitive groups.

How do we know?
WE'RE SO GLAD YOU ASKED! Winnebago County Public Health recently received a grant that allowed us to purchase Purple Air Sensors. We've partnered with organizations across the county to install them. Some are already up and running, and you can see the data in real time at: https://map.purpleair.com/

Some will also be displaying the coordinating flag colors outside for the public to see - thank you Menasha Health Department, Fox Crossing Fire Department, and Fire Department! Have you seen the flags out in the community? Tell us below! ⬇️
