—INCIDENT RELEASE—

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Town of Algoma Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire within the Town of Algoma.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered an active structure fire and immediately initiated fire suppression operations. The fire was brought under control and knocked down quickly, limiting further fire spread and damage.

The Town of Algoma Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Omro-Rushford Fire Department through mutual aid. The Town of Algoma Fire Department appreciates the quick response and assistance provided by our mutual-aid partners.

Crews remained on scene following extinguishment to conduct overhaul operations and check for any remaining fire or hot spots. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.

The Town of Algoma Fire Department would like to remind residents of the importance of working smoke alarms and encourages everyone to test smoke alarms regularly and maintain a fire escape plan.

The Town of Algoma Fire Department is built on volunteer firefighters and first responders who 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙚 to give their time, energy, and passion to help protect their neighbors. When the call comes in, no matter the time of day, they drop everything and leave their homes, families, and jobs when someone in the community needs help.

Volunteer firefighters are a vital part of a strong and safe community, and the Town of Algoma is fortunate to have such 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 and 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 people willing to serve.

To all of our volunteer firefighters (AND our first responder crew): thank you for everything you do, every hour you give, and every sacrifice you make. You are appreciated today and every day! 👏🏻

We are FULL of gratitude for everyone who joined us for this year’s Car Show & Picnic, and for all of you who supported us from afar, whether by purchasing a raffle ticket, making a donation, lending a hand, or simply cheering us on. It truly means so much to us!

We tried something new this year and brought the event to the fire station. What a beautiful day it turned out to be! There was something pretty special about opening the doors to our home and welcoming so many wonderful people in for a day filled with amazing cars (at least 100 of them!), great food, live music, fun raffles, lots of laughs, and most importantly: COMMUNITY. ☺️

An event like this is a massive team effort, and there are SO many people who helped make it possible. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who played a part in making the day such a success.

THANK YOU for showing up, supporting us, and helping make this community so special. We couldn’t do it without you!

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE

Oakwood Circle at Omro Road will be closed for the entirety of the event.

⚠️ EVENT PARKING

* NO parking is permitted on Omro Road.
* Parking is available on *ONE SIDE* of neighboring streets such as Oakwood Circle, Ran Lie Street, Sheboygan Street, Sherrin Street, Conrad Street, and Kewaunee Street.
* Please watch for No Parking signs and be mindful of driveways and intersections. Parking is not permitted on the inner circle of Oakwood Circle.
* Oakwood Circle can be accessed via Oakwood Road.
* Fresenius Kidney Care has been gracious enough to allow parking in their lot AFTER 4PM ONLY. Please do not park here until after 4PM!

We are SO excited for our 10th Annual Town of Algoma Fire Department Car Show & Community Picnic happening TOMORROW, August 15! Bring the family out to the Town of Algoma Fire Station for an impressive lineup of vehicles, delicious eats, cold refreshments, raffles, and live music! Proceeds from the event help support your local volunteer fire department and the services we provide to our community.

Tender 21 has officially made the trek home! 🤩🚒

Our members got the first look at the new rig, and we’re excited to give you a little preview before we formally welcome Tender 21 into service in a few weeks where we’ll share more about its features and capabilities! Better yet, we’re giving the community a sneak peek this weekend—come check out Tender 21 at the Car Show! 👀

A big thank you to Midwest Fire for the collaboration, craftsmanship, and hard work that went into bringing Tender 21 home. We’re excited to start getting this new tender ready to serve alongside our crew for years to come! 🙌🏻

On Tuesday, August 4, while participating in the community Touch-A-Truck event, we were dispatched to a reported structure fire. Through a coordinated and efficient fire attack, firefighters achieved a rapid knockdown, contained the fire to the area of origin, and prevented significant extension into the remainder of the home.

All occupants safely evacuated the residence prior to our arrival, and no injuries were reported.

Incidents like this serve as a reminder of the dedication of our volunteer firefighters, who are always prepared to leave community events, family gatherings, or their workplaces to respond when emergencies occur. We appreciate everyone's understanding as our crew left the Touch-A-Truck event to fulfill that responsibility.

Our thoughts are with the homeowners as they begin the recovery process.
