On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Town of Algoma Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire within the Town of Algoma.
Upon arrival, fire crews encountered an active structure fire and immediately initiated fire suppression operations. The fire was brought under control and knocked down quickly, limiting further fire spread and damage.
The Town of Algoma Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Omro-Rushford Fire Department through mutual aid. The Town of Algoma Fire Department appreciates the quick response and assistance provided by our mutual-aid partners.
Crews remained on scene following extinguishment to conduct overhaul operations and check for any remaining fire or hot spots. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
The Town of Algoma Fire Department would like to remind residents of the importance of working smoke alarms and encourages everyone to test smoke alarms regularly and maintain a fire escape plan.
