District 11 EMS ending service Dec 31st 2022.

Statement Regarding Fire District 11 EMS

On Thursday, December 15th, Jefferson County Emergency Services received an email from the EMS Director of Fire District 11 EMS in Valley Falls stating that as of December 31st, 2022 at midnight, they would no longer be responding to calls as a transporting EMS provider. In the email, the District 11 EMS Director requested that Jefferson County 911 Emergency Dispatchers discontinue paging Dist. 11 EMS for calls in Delaware Twp. or the City of Valley Falls and that only the Dist. 11 Fire Department personnel should be alerted in order to provide first response.

The citizens of Delaware Township and the City of Valley Falls will continue to receive full EMS services and volunteer first response, even in the absence of the District 11 EMS ambulance services. The only substantial change will be the transporting EMS agency, which will be handled by Jefferson County EMS.

Jefferson County and Jefferson County EMS want to reassure the citizens of Delaware Twp and the City of Valley Falls that there will be no loss of EMS service and response when they call 911 for assistance. Jefferson County EMS is as committed now, as they ever have been, to providing the highest quality pre-hospital care to all residents of Jefferson County, including the area previously served by District 11 EMS. Jefferson County EMS, historically and currently, responds to all EMS calls in Delaware Township and the City of Valley Falls. While Jefferson County has not always been the transporting agency for the responses to Valley Falls, Jefferson County EMS is prepared to handle the calls to which District 11 EMS will no longer be responding.
