The burn ban has been lifted so if you would like to get a burn permit please contact one of the officers at Osmond Fire. Thank you

Just a reminder we are grateful for the rain but we are still in a state wide burn band until April 10 signed by the governor so no burning of any sort is permitted. Once something changes I will post it. Thank you for you patience and cooperation.

A reminder that we are still in a burn ban per the governor of Nebraska until April 10th. Regardless of how much rain we receive, fire chiefs are NOT allowed to issue permits until the governor lifts the ban.

Even if the ban is lifted, that is not a guarantee that permits will automatically be issued.

Any updates to this ban will be posted on this page. Until you see updates here, absolutely no burning is allowed.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for all of eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa on Saturday. It will be quite windy all day, with extremely dry air. Please take extra care to not generate sparks as any wildfires will be very difficult to suppress.

🚨 Action Needed: please read this!! 🚨

We need Nebraska's help.

Please take the time to read up on LB 400.

It would provide critical workers’ compensation protections for firefighters diagnosed with cancer, recognizing the real risks they face in the line of duty. This bill was introduced to cover both volunteer and paid firefighters.

However, an amendment has been introduced that would remove volunteer firefighters from this coverage.

That is simply not acceptable. We deserve to be covered as well.

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of line-of-duty deaths among firefighters. Volunteer firefighters face the same dangers and exposures as paid departments, and they deserve the same protections.

Please take a moment to contact your State Senator today.

Ask them to:
Support LB 400 and OPPOSE any amendment that removes volunteer firefighter coverage.

Your voice matters. Help ensure Nebraska’s volunteer firefighters are not left behind!

Winds pick up tonight into the day Thursday, leading to a Very High fire danger. Higher relative humidity, cloud cover, and cooling temperatures will limit widespread fire weather concerns, but any fires that do start may spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should be avoided!
