🔥 July Crew Night 💧

A hot night brought on some pump training for E-97. Members trained with our Deck Gun (on top of the apparatus) and our Blitz Nozzle. Although not used at every single fire, both of these tools are a significant help with fire suppression.

E-97 ran one call for service today, just prior to the start of our Crew Night at 1700 hours.

🔥 Crew Night alert! 🔥 Another night we staffed Engine 97 from 1700 to 2100 hours. Tonight our training focused on the proper way to hit a hydrant, pull a line and get water on the fire efficiently. Members participated in multiple drills pulling pre-connects off the Engine and flowing water.

As we arrived back to the station, an activated alarm on Main Street came in. Engine 97 arrived on scene in under 2 minutes from the time of dispatch carrying 8 members geared up and ready to go!

Prior to our company meeting last night, members trained on our airbags which are part of our extrication equipment. Led by LT. Cavanaugh, members were able to properly crib a vehicle and practice lifting a vehicle with airbags.

Engine 97 is one of 3 apparatus in the OFD that carry extrication equipment.

Members participating in our first ever Crew Night. From 1700 hours to 2100 hours tonight members staffed the firehouse ready to go. During our time we went through each piece of equipment on the apparatus, tested our knowledge on the Engine, completed paperwork and taught newer members about our company.
