Save the date! The New Hampshire Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be in Ossipee on Wednesday, July 8, from 12pm to 2pm. Mobile food pantries are a drive-thru format. Food distributions take place on a first-come, first-served basis and are while supplies last. Each household receives an assortment of produce and shelf-stable foods. We welcome anyone in need of food assistance to join us – no identification or requirements needed.

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿: High-quality social connection dramatically reduces risks of depression, anxiety, substance use, violence, and su***de, while significantly increasing resilience, academic success, and long-term well-being. It literally helps people live longer, and in health-promoting relationships, it helps cultivate protective beliefs in youth.

This week in the 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗛𝗣𝗥 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! campaign, we explore the second strategy in an HPR 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. We encourage you to seize the opportunity to assess and sharpen your ability to engage 16 facilitators of connection (see image below) in your moments with youth.

Casual check-ins, quick instructions, or distracted conversations do not build the protective beliefs youth need to thrive. Meaningful connection (the kind that helps youth feel seen, valued, understood, and supported) is a 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 skill, not a 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵 one. It takes consistent work, but the dividends for youth well-being (and our own!) are profoundly worth it.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲:
1. Which of these facilitators of connection do you already bring naturally into your relationships with youth?
2. Which do you immediately recognize as needing some attention?
3. Pick the one that stands out to you the most and commit to developing it more intentionally this week.
