Tribute to the Fallen
MEMORIAL DAY
2026

The annual tradition of honoring the fallen continues through the tireless efforts of John and Patty and friends, who place flags at veteran graves in local cemeteries. We are grateful for their commitment.

Allan Shenefiel and Penny Shenefiel's dedication to beautifying the North Scriba Union Cemetery garden and the Curtis Shoup Memorial with impressive results, and we thank them for their hard work.

The Town of Scriba Highway Department's addition of a parking area at Veteran's Park has greatly improved accessibility, and we appreciate their contribution.

The Buildings and Grounds team, with Curtis and Ethan, have done an outstanding job maintaining the cemeteries and Veteran's Park. We appreciate and acknowledge them for their service and teamwork.

As we Remember, Respect, and Reflect, we honor the sacrifices of our fallen heroes.

Greetings everyone!

Due to recent projects requiring extensive research, meetings, and collaboration, I have been occupied with various tasks that have kept me away from posting updates. These projects involve a significant amount of paperwork, record-keeping, and site visits, including cemetery documentation, which underscore the importance of preserving history - a task I am passionate about and committed to.

I appreciate your patience regarding my social media updates as I continue working behind the scenes.

I am pleased to share a map provided by Dan Ruddy, a volunteer and Board Member of the Oswego County Historical Society, illustrating property owners and parcel measurements and boundaries. Most, if not all of these homes and land were purchased to build a nuclear power station project by Niagara Mohawk.

Please, would you view with magnification and contribute to the discussion?
