On Saturday, June 6th, join us in knitting Soap Sacks from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm in the Oswego Public Library's community room.

Beginner experience with knitting or crochet is necessary. Please bring a set of size US # 8 (5.0 mm) knitting needles – straight, circular, or double-pointed – a ball of cotton yarn, worsted weight similar to Lily’s Sugar and Cream, and a tapestry or yarn needle.

Directions will be provided for different methods of casting on and for constructing the bags. One 2-ounce ball of yarn will make two soap sacks with a little left over. You will go home with printed instructions.

Soap Sacks are small bags that hold a bar of soap and can also be used as washcloths. These soap sacks are also suitable for gifting to Human Concerns for distribution to our neighbors. For more details, please see soapsacks.com.

Indulge in the fantastical flavors of the DreamWorks classic Shrek 2! Enjoy a menu of chicken wings, Renaissance wraps, happily ever after potions, and gingerbread cookies.

Baskets, Buttons, & Ribbons - Oh My!

From June 1st to the 6th, the Children's Room at the Oswego Public Library is seeking donations of baskets, basket filler, ribbons, and buttons.

Help Us Name Our Dinosaurs!

This summer, our theme is "Unearth A Story," and we will have tons of Jurassic Fun! Each week of summer reading will feature one of these dinosaurs as a mascot. But they have no names, and we need YOUR help!

Suggest a name for one or more of our library dinos by visiting the front entrance to the Children's Room, or filling out this form: https://forms.office.com/r/4xFqqHCUrh

In June, the dinos will pick their top three choices, and you can vote on their final name.

Have you ever considered homeschooling? Join us for Homeschooling 101, a workshop where you can learn about legal requirements, different curriculum choices, how to get started with students of any age, and local homeschooling programs. The session is led by Nellica Rave, an experienced homeschooler and vice president of the Oswego Homeschool Association.

The event will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the library’s Community Room at 120 E. Second St, Oswego.

The Oswego Public Library will be closed for Memorial Day Weekend. Dates closed include 5/23/26 to 5/25/26.
