Looking for ways to limit the spread of ticks this summer?

As the weather gets warmer and more time is spent outdoors, it’s important to take steps to protect yourself and your family from tick bites. Wearing repellent, checking for ticks after being outside, and avoiding tall grass can all help reduce your risk.

Attached is information from the CDC website on ways to help prevent tick bites and stay safe this summer.

Reducing exposure to ticks is the best defense against tickborne diseases.

We’re excited to announce the start of our new series: Food Myth Monday! 🍽️

Each week, we’ll be breaking down common food safety myths and misconceptions to help keep you and your family informed and safe in the kitchen.

Since we’ll be away next Monday for Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to help everyone kick off the holiday safely with an important reminder: proper cooking temperatures matter! Using a food thermometer is the best way to make sure food is cooked safely and harmful bacteria are destroyed.

Check out these safe minimum internal cooking temperatures from the FDA:

Tick season is here—and it’s shaping up to be a tough one.
As temperatures rise, tick activity increases, and so does the risk of tick-borne illnesses like Lyme disease. When spending time outdoors, especially in wooded or grassy areas, take a few simple precautions:

- Use insect repellent
- Wear long sleeves and pants when possible
- Stay on marked trails
- Always do a full body check after being outside.

Protect yourself, your family, and your pets this season. Awareness and prevention go a long way. 🪲
