Oswego City Animal Shelter We are a municipal Shelter and Animal Control office. We serve the City of Oswego. We are not affiliated with the Oswego County Humane Society, or the SPCA.

We are Animal Control/law enforcement for the City of Oswego. To adopt a pet you must fill out an adoption application to be approved by our staff. There is a 24-48 hour wait on all adoptions to give us a chance to review your application and give you a chance to think about the commitment of owning a pet. (Some waits may be longer.) Once approved, an appointment will be made for meet and greets.

Adopted pets may not be given as gifts, outside of the household. Adoption fee for dogs = $200 cash/check *Licensing fee may also apply. Adoption fee for cats = $100 cash/check
ALL pets come vaccinated, altered (spay/neuter), microchipped, defleaed/dewormed. Our cat wing may be visited during open Shelter hours, normally 12-4pm Mon.-Fri. We DO NOT have a walk through dog kennel due to public safety reasons. Adoptable dogs will be brought out to meet you with application approval and upon appointment time. The Shelter is closed on holidays and weekends. Appointments for those with approved applications may be specially made on weekends. Her name is Toothless, she has her very own Toothless the dragon stuffed animal, and she’s a mama to a couple of other cats on the adoption floor.🥹🐾

But there’s one thing about Toothless that is really hard to understand…

She has been here for OVER A YEAR.💔

For more than a year, she has watched other cats get adopted and go home while she keeps getting left behind. Day after day, she’s still here.
She has spent so much of her life in a shelter that it’s heartbreaking to think she still doesn’t have a family of her own. She deserves to know what it feels like to have a couch to sleep on, a window to watch from, and a person who comes back for her every single day. 🏡❤️

And somehow, through all that waiting, she still has her little Toothless dragon by her side. 🐲🖤

Please don’t let another year go by. Toothless has waited long enough.

Meet Dino (white) and Bam Bam (black/white)....yes, they are siblings even though very different looking. They are 3 month old males and ready to find homes. Mixed breed, super sweet, and love to play and snugg up their humans. Their Mama is also ready for them to leave....her alone. 🤣🤣 She's ready for some "Me time". There are two other females from this litter, coming soon, as well. Stay tuned for Pebbles, Wilma, and Mom (Betty).
