Karin McCarthy-Lange For Oswego Village Trustee This page is to help publicize the campaign for Karin McCarthy-Lange for Oswego Village Trustee. I love Oswego. Please contact me at the email listed. Thank you!

This town has become home to me and my family since we moved here in spring of 2003. After years of being extremely involved in the community - I want to do more and represent our residents on the Oswego Village Board of Trustees. A little about me - I am a graduate of Illinois State University where I studied Graphic Design at the school of Fine Art. I have worked as a Graphic Designer for 16 yea

rs before becoming an entrepreneur with direct sales and marketing. I have been married for 20 years and we have two wonderful children. A little about my community experience: I have been extremely involved in the community over the last 11+ years in Oswego. I have been president of a Homeowners Association, vice president and president of Home and School Association, Chamber of Commerce member, Committee member for Inspiring Women of Oswego, Past Dynamic Professional Women's member, Social Committee member, and currently I serve on the Cultural Arts Commission. I love to volunteer and be involved and you will always see me at our local events. Because I want to help shape the future of our village, I have spent much time attending Village Board meetings to become informed about what topics are being discussed. For more info on my view on specific issues, please visit my website at karin4oswego.com. I would love to hear from you and what you believe is important for Oswego!

Some exciting news for DT Oswego!!

Exciting news, Oswego! 🍕🎉

Billy Bricks Wood Fired Pizza is coming to downtown at 5 S. Madison Street, next to Freddie’s Off the Chain. After finalizing a lease last week, Billy Bricks and their landlord are now working together to submit permit plans which will involve a substantial renovation of the 1,800 SF building. The project timeline is still TBD, but they’re anticipated to open by later this year.

Stay tuned for more updates! In the meantime, check out their recent interview with WGN to get a taste of what’s coming: https://wgnradio.com/chicagos-very-own-eats/billy-bricks-pairs-their-pizza-with-award-winning-moo-joes-ice-cream/

On tonight’s committee of the whole agenda is a discussion of the grocery tax. If approved, I will be attending the meeting virtually due to a virus I picked up over the holiday weekend. The map of those municipalities that have already enacted the tax is in the comments as well as on the agenda. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Here is link to the agenda with the information presented to the board. Take a look at the info. 😊

Is it me, or is it strange that this account is coming after me personally just for asking who the admin is? Originally, this account was true to its name and had some really great reviews of local businesses, but something took a turn and it started doing quasi-political posts that seem to be trying to bait people into arguments. It concerns me because this is a community that comes together, and this doesn't seem to be supporting that. Does anyone know who runs this account so I can help them understand my concerns?

So happy to be able to help support the Oswego Senior and Community Center! The village used some of the budget surplus to donate to the OSCC’s capital campaign.

We're proud to support the incredible work of the Oswego Senior Center, a vital resource for our community! During last week’s Board meeting, the Village Board had the honor of presenting them with a check to support their Capital Campaign, which will further their mission of enriching lives through programs, services and social opportunities. Thank you for all you do to make Oswego a better place for everyone!

I remember getting a call from my husband about this happening. I was home with our 2 month old baby. It was shocking to watch especially as the second plane hit in real time.

I especially remember going to Church the Sunday after 9/11 and being comforted by our pastor’s words. It was such a difficult time in our country but we came together as Americans. Now, 23 years later and we will never forget.
