Successful day! Adams County Fire District #5 completed field day with our 12 new recruits in both the wildland and structure field. Some key points they displayed was how to dig a trench with multiple hand tools, how to set up ladders, how to fight fire and maneuver together with a partner on a nozzle and on a brush truck, and how to set up a fire hydrant. We are extremely proud of all the hard work and training they have conducted in the classroom and hands on training. On behalf of A.C.F.D. #5 we would like to welcome the following new firefighters to our department.

Adams County Fire District #5 would like to thank the Adams County Integrated Health Care Service for their donations to Adams County Fire District #5. The turnout dryer will contribute to more efficient drying of our structure gear. The new AEDs will upgrade our old units as well as putting them into our stations.

🔥🚒 Adams County Fire District 5 🔥🚒

We begin the new year introducing you to Chief Tom Salsbury. Tom started volunteering for A.C.F.D. 5 in 1991. In 2001, Tom was hired on full time as a captain. Then in 2008, he was promoted to Assistant Chief. Just this past year in 2025, Tom became the new fire chief. Fun facts about Tom is he was raised in Othello. Tom loves spending time at his cabin with his wife where they enjoy riding their snow mobiles and sides by side.
