The Kids took on OTL in the championship game and came away with the win to claim the title, with OTL finishing as the 2nd Place team.

🏀 Jr. NBA Basketball – 2026 Winter Season 🏀

Registrations for our upcoming youth basketball season is now OPEN! Boys and girls in divisions 3rd & 4th Grade and 5th & 6th Grade will enjoy a fun and competitive season from November 2rd 2026 - December 1st 2026.

Important: The league will only run if we have enough volunteer coaches registered and sufficient referees available. If you're interested in helping make this season possible, please consider signing up to volunteer.

To ensure a positive experience, a mandatory Skills Camp will be held for team placement. Players will be evaluated on skill level and experience to form balanced teams in each division, promoting fairness and enjoyment throughout the season, though perfect balance isn't guaranteed.

3rd/4th Grade Basketball Skills Camp: September 30, 2026
- Boys Division: 4:30PM-5:30PM
- Girls Division: 5:45PM-6:45PM

5th/6th Grade Basketball Skills Camp: October 2, 2026

- Girls Division: 5:45PM-6:45PM

Participation is important for accurate team placement and a successful season. Parks & Recreation staff will place players not in attendance on a team.

🚧 Kiwanis Park Trail Project Update 🚧

The City of Othello would like to remind residents that Kiwanis Park trails are currently closed due to ongoing trail construction and park rehabilitation.

For everyone’s safety, all trails and construction areas are closed and barricaded. Please do not enter or go around the barricades while crews are working.

The park is expected to remain closed through August 28 as improvements continue.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve Kiwanis Park for our community! 🌳🚶‍♀️

The City of Othello is Requesting Proposals for Lobbying Services

The City of Othello is seeking proposals from qualified lobbying and government affairs professionals or firms to provide legislative advocacy and government relations services on behalf of the City.

The selected lobbyist will assist the City with legislative priorities, monitoring state legislation, advocating for funding opportunities, and representing the City's interests before the Washington State Legislature and state agencies.

📄 Interested firms or individuals are encouraged to submit a proposal outlining their qualifications, relevant experience, scope of services, references, and proposed fee structure.

Volunteer Coaches Needed – Don’t Let These Teams Get Canceled

Othello MLS GO Soccer needs your help to keep the season going.
Youth soccer registrations have officially closed; however, if you're interested in coaching, this could provide an opportunity to fill the last available spot on the team with your player. For further information, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department.

We're currently looking for volunteer coaches in the following divisions:

1st & 2nd Grade Division: 3 Coaches Needed

3rd & 4th Grade Division: 3 Coaches Needed

5th & 6th Grade Division: 2 Coaches Needed

Season Details:
September 22, 2026 – October 16, 2026

Games on Tuesdays & Thursdays

Games are less than 1 hour

One weekly practice recommended (led by coach)

All equipment provided

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old

No coaching experience? No problem. We provide orientation and support to help you succeed.

If your child is on a team, we strongly encourage you to volunteer.

Cost Per Team: $350 (Maximum 16 Players)
Ages 18+ (One 16–17-year-old player permitted per team with a signed parent waiver)

Good news! The City of Othello Parks & Recreation Department has extended registration for the 2026 Fall Soccer Season. Don't miss your chance to sign up!

Season Dates: September 22 – October 15, 2026
Game Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Game times will be determined by division and registration numbers and announced once teams have been formed.

Divisions are based on the participant's grade level for the 2026–2027 school year:
• Pre-K (minimum age 4) & Kindergarten: CO-ED Division
• 1st–2nd Grade: CO-ED Division
• 3rd–4th Grade: Boys Division & Girls Division
• 5th–6th Grade: Boys Division & Girls Division

Please note:
• Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
• All outstanding balances must be paid before participating in City sports programs.
• Coach and buddy requests are not guaranteed.
• Programs require sufficient participant enrollment and volunteer coaches to operate.
• No refunds will be issued for participant-initiated cancellations.

As the 2026 Othello Summer Recreation Program comes to a close, we're reflecting on three incredible weeks of fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories! ☀️💙

This summer was filled with something for everyone, crafts, games, sports, movies, playground adventures, and endless opportunities to play, learn, and make new friends.

Our teen team leaders gained valuable work experience while making a positive impact on our campers, and our managers and supervisors had the privilege of mentoring and watching them grow into confident leaders. We're so proud of the dedication and enthusiasm they brought to our program each day.

We wrapped up the summer with an epic waterslide celebration, giving everyone a chance to cool off, have fun, and celebrate an amazing summer together! 💦🎉

Thank you to all of our campers, families, staff, and teen leaders for making Summer Rec 2026 such a success. From new friendships and exciting experiences to countless smiles and great memories, this summer was one to remember.
