The Otoe County Courthouse is closed today and until further notice due to a water leak. Early voting is available at the Otoe County Road Shop located at 6150 Hwy 75, Nebraska City today, tomorrow, and Friday. The hours today are Noon – 4:30 p.m. and the hours for tomorrow and Friday will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Patriots, another day, another broken socialist promise.

Zohran Mamdani campaigned heavily on “free buses” for New Yorkers — a signature giveaway that helped him win. Now, just months into his term, he’s already admitting there won’t be any free buses this year. Congrats, New York — you got completely scammed.

This is textbook radical leftist governance: make flashy, unrealistic promises to buy votes, then quietly admit reality once you’re in power. Mamdani sold himself as the champion of the working class, yet he can’t even deliver on something as basic as free public transit. Why? Because socialist economics doesn’t work. “Free” always means someone else pays — and in this case, it would be New York taxpayers already crushed by some of the highest taxes and worst services in the country.

While Mamdani was out promising pie-in-the-sky transit, the city’s budget is hemorrhaging money on migrant shelters, failing schools, and crime. His priorities are clear: virtue-signal with utopian fantasies while everyday New Yorkers deal with filthy subways, rising fares, and declining service. This is the same pattern we see in every blue city — overpromise, underdeliver, blame Republicans, then raise taxes.

New Yorkers were warned. Mamdani is a proud democratic socialist who worships at the altar of big government. These people never run out of other people’s money to spend — until the money runs out or the voters finally notice the con. Now the free bus fantasy is collapsing, just like every other socialist experiment before it.

Working families in New York deserve honest leadership, not con artists selling fantasies. They deserve lower taxes, safer streets, and reliable services — not more empty promises from radicals playing dress-up as revolutionaries.

Raise your hand if you’re not surprised that Mamdani’s “free buses” turned out to be a total scam! New York got exactly what it voted for — more incompetence, more excuses, and more pain for taxpayers. The rest of America should watch closely. This is what happens when socialists gain real power.

No apologies. No retreat. America First means rejecting these failures, not importing them nationwide.

"I'M NOT A RA**ST. I'M NOT A PE*****LE." Trump said that. On camera. On 60 Minutes. To a journalist. Hours after a man with a shotgun came for him.

Norah O'Donnell sat across from Donald Trump on Sunday night, less than 24 hours after a man named Cole Allen charged a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives. The shooter left a manifesto. O'Donnell read from it. Word for word.

"I'm no longer willing to permit a pe*****le, ra**st, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes."

Then she asked the president for his reaction.

What followed was not the response of a man who had just survived an attempt on his life. It was the response of a man whose biggest political weakness had just been said out loud on national television.

"I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you're horrible people. I'm not a ra**st. I didn't r**e anybody. I'm not a pe*****le. Excuse me. You read that crap from a sick person. I was totally exonerated. You should be ashamed of yourself, reading that. You're a disgrace."

The president of the United States, on the country's most-watched newsmagazine, looked into the camera and said the words "I'm not a ra**st. I'm not a pe*****le."

Twice. Of his own free will. Without being asked the question. Just because someone read what someone else wrote.

Trump was not "totally exonerated." A federal jury in May 2023 found him civilly liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll.

A federal judge subsequently ruled the jury had effectively found Trump committed r**e under the common definition of the term. He was ordered to pay her $5 million.

Then $83.3 million more in a defamation case. The $5 million verdict was upheld on appeal in December 2024. Trump's en banc petition was rejected in June 2025. He has now petitioned the Supreme Court. The $83.3 million appeal is ongoing. The court records exist.

The audio of his deposition exists. His own words exist.

And the Epstein files. The Epstein flight logs. The Maxwell deposition where her lawyer offered to "exonerate" him in exchange for a pardon. The DOJ inspector general's investigation into the Bondi cover-up. The projector that lit up the side of the Hilton on Friday night with Trump's face next to Epstein's and the words END THE COVER-UP.

The shooter is in custody. The manifesto is being analyzed. The motive is officially still under investigation. But the most revealing thing about the entire incident is not what the shooter wrote. It's what the president said about it on 60 Minutes.

Our plan is simple to defeat Pete Ricketts. It all starts with the Primary Election.

As you fill out your vote-by-mail ballot over the weekend or if you plan to vote early in-person at election commission offices across Nebraska beginning on Monday (yes, Monday), vote for Cindy Burbank as the true Democrat in the Primary.

Do not vote for the fake Democrat (William Forbes) listed on the ballot. Also, do not WRITE IN Dan Osborn’s name on the Primary Election ballot. You will only be able to vote for Dan in the General Election as we get closer to November. We must all rally behind Cindy Burbank to defeat Forbes in the Primary. We can then focus on Ricketts in the General Election.

Please share this far and wide! If we are to defeat Pete Ricketts, we must vote for Cindy Burbank on or before May 12th.
