On September 13 from 11AM to 3PM, a vibrant collective of Art, Wellness and Ecology enthusiasts, conservation educators, and woodland guides will come together at Nell’s Woodland to celebrate the Art’s and their profound impact on wellness, and raising awareness for the importance of Earth’s natural resources.
Enjoy hands-on activities, demonstrations, and an awards ceremony for Ottawa's second En Plein Air competition. Come experience an engaging educational session, spend quality time with family and friends, explore the woodland’s hidden treasures, and immerse yourself in the beauty, tranquility, and healing power of nature to nurture your wellbeing and personal growth!

This event is free and open to all ages. No registration required!

We are more than looking forward to our upcoming Young Artist Mentorship program which kicks off in July with our incredibly talented group of selected students and mentors. Nell's Woodland would like to thank the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation, as the mentorship program receives partial funding from the Arts of Starved Rock Country Fund, a component of the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation alongside support from the Illinois Arts Council.

It is the last week to apply for our Young Artist Mentorship Program, a three day collaborative art retreat taking place July 10th, 11 and 12th, dedicated to High School students ages 16-18 years old interested in the visual arts.

Selected through an application process, participants will engage in hands on mentorship across a range of disciplines including plein art painting, wet felting, cyanotype photography, and a shared collaborative mosaic project. Prepare to explore new materials and techniques, exchange ideas with peers, and build meaningful relationships with fellow artists and experienced mentors.
