Cellphones calling 911 do not appear to be having issues. 419-812-3041 is the only way to contact the sheriff's office non emergency lines at this time also.

🦅 Eagles Golf Outing Supports Project Lifesaver 🦅
The Putnam County Eagles Clubs recently presented $500 to Project Lifesaver of Putnam County, with proceeds raised through their annual golf outing.
Project Lifesaver is a national program that provides a rapid response to locate individuals who may wander due to Alzheimer’s disease, autism, dementia, or other cognitive conditions. Through specialized technology and training, first responders are better equipped to quickly locate individuals who wander, helping reduce the risk of injury or tragedy.
Grant Schnipke was one of the first recipients of Project Lifesaver in Putnam County. His participation in the program has helped demonstrate the importance of having this valuable resource available to families throughout our community.

**Update (6:30 PM): Road 12 and Road E are now open and power is back on. Thank you for everyone's patience.

PRESS RELEASE-2:00 PM 8/29/26

At 10:01 AM today’s date Putnam County 9-1-1 received a call reporting an injury rollover accident at the intersection of Road E and Road 12 in Liberty Township. A flat-bed pick-up truck pulling a small trailer was westbound on Road E, driven by Hector Moreno, Gainesville, FL. Mr. Moreno struck a southbound SUV driven by Nancy Niese, Miller City, causing her vehicle to strike a utility pole and roll over. Mrs. Niese had to be extricated from her vehicle by Miller City Fire Department and was taken to Mercy Health St. Rita’s, Lima by Leipsic EMS. Mr. Moreno and his two passengers refused transport on scene. Mr. Moreno was cited for Failure to Yield. The intersection is still currently closed pending repairs to the utility pole and power will need to be cut in the area while they make repairs in the next few hours. Assisting at the scene was Ottawa Heavy Rescue, Putnam County EMS, Paulding Putnam Electric, and Kuhlman Auto Sales and Towing.
