Tornado relief events on Sunday, June 14:
Noon to 5 p.m.: Woodland Community Unit School District 5 will host Bounce for a Better Tomorrow at the Woodland football field with World Of Bounce, LLC and Sparrow's Nest Farm petting zoo. Donations will be accepted to be shared with people affected by tornado.
Noon to 7 p.m.: Streator Elks 591 created a relief center of supplies. Donations accepted. Supplies will be distributed to people in need. The distribution center is located on the second floor of the lodge. Call 815-672-2717.
11 a.m. until gone: Dabarkadz Grocery at Westgate Plaza has prepared free lunches for tornado victims/volunteers/responders
1 to 5 p.m. Central Church of Christ and Grace Community Church partnered with Convoy of Hope to distribute clean-up supplies (tarps, totes, garbage cans, rakes, etc.) and water to community members affected by the tornado. This is at 2001 E. Main St.
8 a.m. to 6 p.m.: State Farm's CAT (catastrophe) team is set up at 201 N. Bloomington St. Theresa Solon - State Farm Insurance Agent and Chad Lucas - State Farm Insurance Agent
6 p.m. Streator First Assembly of God, 1902 Church St., will host a hot dog dinner at 6 p.m. for anyone affected by the tornado / or community members. The church has a sharing room for clothing for those in need.
Essential supplies are available at 411 Oakley Ave.
St. Vincent de Paul has relief funds/furniture/rides available. Call 815-672-3687 for assistance.
Noon to 5 p.m. Donate new or gently used toys for a toy drive for children affected by the tornado. Collection will be at CornerStone Collectibles & More, 124 N. Bloomington St. The collection is being organized by Logan's Oasis Organization and one also will be conducted Monday at Marilla Park.
