Ottawa Opportunity School Founded in 1968. Our mission is to serve children and families in our community by providing a high quality, affordable early childhood program.

We are a NAEYC accredited preschool in Ottawa, Illinois. Programs are available for 2, 3, and 4 year olds. Our objective is to serve all families regardless of their ability to pay. This financial assistance is provided by many generous and caring groups and individuals in the community such as the Child Welfare Guild and Sunrise Rotary. Ottawa Opportunity School

We can’t believe our school year is over! We are so proud of each and every one of our students and all they have accomplished this year. Watching them learn, grow, and shine has been such a joy.

As they move on to new adventures, we know they will continue to do amazing things no matter where life takes them. ❤️

The past two days were full of fun as we ended the school year with our Explorers. First was our Day at the Park event with our evening Explorers. The park was packed with, dare we say, 60+ people?! Parents, students, and siblings alike came out for this beautiful night. It was WONDERFUL!

This morning we gathered together at IVGA for our morning classes. Every picture we took turned out blurry, because our students were in constant motion! 😆 Tons of smiles and lots of laughter made this morning so FANTASTIC! We can’t say enough good things about it.

One of the joys of the Explorer Classes is getting to know our students, but also their caregivers. It’s a special gift to get to work alongside them all in the classroom.

We wish our Explorers well as they continue their journey through education. We’re so glad you started that journey with us! ♥️

We had a wild and crazy Fancy Tea Party today. They picked out some pretty fantastic outfits! We had princesses, Batman, a Spiderman, head-to-toe glitter ensembles, and cowboys to name a few. We even had one with a disguise and one with a Burger King crown. We love their idea of fancy!

We did our best to raise our pinkies when drinking out of our tea cups, and use our very best and fancy manners. Sometimes raising our pinkies was hard though, so we held our cups with Spiderman hands instead. 😉

And that’s a wrap! Our Explorers just finished their final class together (with the exception of night at the park next week) and we couldn’t be more proud of them! They had the chance to experience what it would be like to be an independent preschooler, and they did an amazing job. It has been an absolute joy watching them grow, learn, and shine throughout this school year. We are so sad to see them go but we know they are more than ready for their next adventure!
